    1. mtDNA Results - Surnames: Flanagan, Hill, Perkins, Edmonds, Bernard
    2. Hi, I just recently received results for my mtDNA and for my fathers. Since these are passed ONLY from mothers to their children and not from fathers, my fathers is that of my grandmother Queen Victoria Edmonds daughter of Nancy Edmonds who was daughter of Ameia Bernard if my info is correct in the last. Mine is from my mother, Ima Bernard, daughter of Mary Brown. Her grandmother was Ida Coffey, her gggrandmother was Mary Ann Hill, and - if info is correct - her ggggrandmother was Beasy Perkins. Descendants in direct female lines should match these results pretty closely or exactly. My fathers results showed that he is in haplogroup H [Helena in Bryan Sykes terminology], with mutations the following mtations from the reference sequence used: 16263C, 16325- [this means that there was a deletion there, i.e., nothing], and 16519C. All descendants in a female line of Nancy Edmonds and Beasy Perkins likely share these. My results showed haplogroup H as well, with two mutations from the reference sequence: 16293G and 16519C. Descndants of Mary Ann Hill in a direct female line and Beasy Perkins likely share these values. Just wanted to share this with others on the lists in case they were descendants in case anyone descends from these female lines. G. O'F. -- G.
