    2. FOUR MEN FALL IN FATAL SHOOTING AT UCUM BALL GAME ONLY FOUR SHOTS FIRED, TWO MEN DROP DEAD, TWO DIE LATER One of the most horrible killings that has happened in the county in many years, happened at a ball game Saturday afternoon at Ucum, Kentucky. We are informed that only four men were engaged in the shooting, four shots were fired and all four men were dead, two of the men died almost instantly, one died Saturday night and the fourth died Sunday night. It appears from the information we received that the trouble started when Leo Mann, who is a constable attempted to make an arrest of some persons who were accused of making a disturbance, one of the men resisted arrest and Leo Mann reached for his gun and attempted to fire but his gun jammed and while there seems to be considerable diverseness of opinion as to which of the dead men killed each of those who fell. Yet all seem to agree that Leo Mann did not fire his gun, all apparently agree that all those who were interested in the argument were killed. Jasper Hadley was kill instantly. He is 30 years of age and is survived by one brother Paul Hadley, burial in family cemetery. Bill Mann, 35, leaves two children, father and several brothers and sisters. He was buried in the family cemetery at Creelsboro Sunday afternoon, funerals services were conducted by Rev. Flatt. George Elmore, 25, was shot by a stray bullet, he leaves to mourn his death, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Elmore. Elmore also has several brothers and sisters. He was buried at Manntown Monday morning. Leo Mann, 30, died Sunday night at Russell Springs. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon and he was buried at Manntown. He leaves a wife and one child, several brothers and sisters to mourn his loss. KILLED IN GUN FIGHT Jasper Hadley and Bill Mann were killed almost instantly late Saturday afternoon near Ucum and George Elmore and Leo Mann were seriously wounded during a gunfight. Elmore was conveyed to the clinic of Dr. Ballou, where he died early Sunday morning, and Leo Mann was brought to the clinic of Dr. McClendon, this city, where he died Sunday night about midnight. Jasper Hadley and Bill Mann were buried Sunday, while Elmore and Leo Mann were buried Monday. Hadley and Elmore were single men but are survived by many relatives, while bill Mann is survived by wife and three children, besides other relatives, and Leo Mann is survived by wife and one child and several other relatives. **This article sent to me by George Reuben Elmore. P.S. George Elmore did not fire any shots. He was unarmed.
