We should compare notes on our own. My info comes from letters in the collection of Dr. Walter Wayne Smith in Salisbury, Rowan Co, NC. Did William Whittle, Sr have a daughter Nancy b. ca 1833 who married Wesley Stephens born 1820, son of John Stephens and Martha Stephens? To make things more confusing John Stephens and Martha "Patsy" Stephens were first cousins. Although they had 14 children all of them were normal. John was the son of Welcome Stephens and Nancy and Martha was the daughter of Dudley Stephens and Nancy Cornell (my direct ancestors). Welcome and Dudley were brothers who lived in Jabez. Rosemary
