Warinner and I am a direct descendent of Iverson L. Warinner who settled in Rock House Bottom, KY (Creelsboro, Russell Co., KY) in the late 1750's and began trading with keel boats on the Cumberland River. My great grand father was Iverson Louis Warinner, a veteran of the Union Army, and is buried in Valley Cemetery, Albany, KY (Clinton Co) next to his wife Exona Grider Warinner. His grandfather is also Iverson L. Warinner and is buried in the private Warinner cemetery in Seventy Six, KY, and died around 1850. His grandfather was the Iverson L. Warinner who originally settled in Rock House Bottom - now just below Wolf Creek Dam on the Cumberland River. I have visited his grave there many times. I know that my great grandfather Iverson L. and his brother Jasper split over the slavery issue during the Civil War and the descendents still remain estranged. My father, Iverson L.'s grandson, became a Republican politician and Jasper's descendents became democrats. Unfortunately, the democratic side of the family never supported my father in state races because of the schism as a result of the Civil War. I am a college professor (single) living in Louisville, KY. My siblings are still alive: Joanne Warinner Sawyer (Mrs. Dave H.) of Lexington, KY., Edgar Paul Warinner, Jr. of Strasburg, Ohio, and Harriett Warinner Hile of Taylorsville, KY. I can be reached by e-mail, or by phone 502 456 0999. I would enjoy talking to another Iverson Warinner and conversing with my distant relatives.
