I am descended from James O. Richards born 1830, married Mary Leach November 21, 1850 in Russell County, Kentucky. Their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Richards, born 1854, married Hiram T. Wheat on November 19, 1873 in Russell County, Kentucky James Oliver's Father was Amos Richards and his mother was Barbara Klein Richards. Their children were Aaron born 6-1-1823, John, born 8-28-1825, Sallie 6-16-1828, James, 5-16-1830 and Elizabeth Ann 8-3-1832, who married Cyrus Grider 1-28-1852. Amos was born in Ireland 3-20-1790 and came to America with his father Aaron and mother Cloe along with his sisters Lydia and Polly, brothers Thomas, Brice and Daniel. They moved to Kentucky around 1810 and recorded a land purchase of 207-1/2 acres of land January 7th, 1811 from John and Mary Gilbreath which was located near Big Clifty. Aaron died around the end of the year of 1817and was survived by his wife Cloe.
