He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Feathership Church of God. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Pierce, Russell Springs, KY; two sons, Roger Pierce, Whitley City, KY and Darrell Pierce, Russell Springs, KY; and one step son, James Barnes, Elkhorn, KY; one brother, Lilburn Pierce, Anderson, IN; and two sisters, Myrtle Hadley and Ruth Hart, both of Mt. Washington, KY; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, William Pierce. Funeral services were Thursday, May 29, 2003 in the chapel of Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Jessie Rogers officiating. Interment was in the Grider Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roland Stapp, Joe Garner, Scott Pierce, Bo Meek, Joseph Seelye, Sr. and Joseph Seelye, Jr. Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
