Surnames: Rogers Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XBB.2ACE/1798 Message Board Post: The name of James Paul Rogers appears on the plaque at Memorial Square, Jamestown KY, as one of fourteen Russell County soldiers who died or were killed during World War I. The "Registration of Veterans' Graves" (information collected in the late 1930s by a division of WPA) for Russell County gives this information: Date of birth: unknown Date of death: 1-21-1920 Place of burial: unknown cemetery, France If his death occurred in January, 1920, as stated above, he died some fourteen months after the war ended. Numerous searches of the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) site have failed to produce any information about his burial place. Can anyone shed light on when and where this Russell County soldier died and in which cemetery his remains were buried? Thanks, Jim
