Samuel Chumbley (son of Andrew and Elizabeth Cadle Chumbley) Jul. 22, 1844-Sep. 21, 1925 .. 24 Oct 1920) "Coatney Cain" (b.08 Jun 1846 - d. is the name on the tombstone beside Samuel Chumbley at the Union Cemetery, Hwy. 2535 in Russell County, but the death certificate (husband's name & matching death date of tombstone) only the initial "A. Chumbley," with the informant being Samuel Chumbley. The Russell County Marriage book has a certificate of marriage between Samuel and "Rebecca A. Cain," dated March 22, 1886; (yet he was also supposed to have married Coatney Cain on the same date in Waterloo, Pulaski County??) If "Coatney" is the daughter of Ephriam Cain, then her mother was named Rebecca. 1880 Russell County Census has "Claryan C" as the wife of Samuel Chumbley. In the 1850 census, there was a daughter Margaret, age 5, with the Ephriam Cain family. Lots of land went back and forth between Chumbleys and Cains (Ephriam, Smith W, and Milford Cain). Can anyone help? Coatney, Rebecca, Clarann or A. Cain. Thanks, Alice Chumbley Lora
