    3. Hello, I have John R Antle born 1825 died January 1909. His parents were Henry Antle Sr and Mollie Moore Antle. I have that his spouse was Sarah A Brockman. They had the following children; Stephen, Mary, Fanny, Mariah, Thomas, Oliver, John W., Mattie, Larue and Sabrina. Is this matching the Antle family information that you have? I am interested in other Antle Info that you have. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Valletta1@aol.com> To: <KYRUSSEL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 15, 2005 8:10 AM Subject: Re: [RUSSELL COUNTY, KY] Re: Ancestors from Russell/Adair Cos. > I am looking for information on Sarah Ann Brockman, I believe her parents > were > Thomas Leftridge Brockman and Hannah Conover. Although the 1850 census says he was born in KY, he owned quite a bit of land so was fairly affluent. He is shown in District 2 Russell Co., with wife Elizabeth and children: John, Jane, James, William G., Mary C. Elias and Margaret ll born KY. Cannot find a burial for Elias in any of the Cemetery's I have, including the SMITH Cemetery. Perhaps he is buried in with some of the Meadows family or on the family farm.

I'm not sure if there is a connection as Elias is my brick wall. I've been searching for more information on him, but haven't had much luck.

There is a cemetery in Russell county that some people call the Kerns Cemetery but on one of our ancestors death record it was named Helm Cemetery. It's located just off of 619. There are several unmarked graves at this site. There is a Kern's cemetery (which we found listed in a cemetery book) on 55 just west of 127 but we have not been there yet. Michael and Catherine (Shaver or Schafer) Kerns are my husbands 4th great grandparents. Brenda

There is apparently more than one cemetary named the Grider Cemetary. I say this because there were no Richards family named on that particular Grider Cemetary report. I looked at every cemetary listed there and none of the individual reports listed any of the names in this little graveyard. I know that it is still used 'cause when we were there, there was a fresh grave there and it turned out to be a childhood friend of my Dad's. Thanks! Stephanie

This may of some help. Margie

Surnames: Richards, Grider, Burris etc. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XBB.2ACE/1245.4.1 Message Board Post: I just had to ask you if you have a listing of who all is buried in the Grider Cemetary? There is a lot of my Richards family who is buried in that cemetary (in fact it started out being called the Richards Cemetary) and in reading this thread, I just wondered if you knew if there is a list that exists? I traveled up there from Memphis, TN a few years ago to visit the graves of my great-grandparents, my grandmother and see other family graves with my father, J.W.Richards. Dad grew up in a log cabin very near there and attended Blair School for a very short time. Dad is now 76. In fact, if you are standing in the little graveyard facing the tombstones, to your right, across the "yard" (there used to be a house there) you will go down a hill and down there is where the cabin is. The land is now owned by the Millers who I met when we made that trip. Mr. Miller not only remembered Dad but recalled a story about Dad shooting his cat (the cat survived!). I have a picture o! f the old Blair schoolhouse that Dad took back in the 1940's that I can share. I appreciate, in advance, any info that you can give me. By the way, you probably know this, but the Grider's and the Richards families are VERY intertwined. Stephanie Richards Jackson

    3. I do not have a Sarah Ann Brockman as one of Thomas Brockmans children. See below.............I do find her in the Russell Co. 1860 census with John Antle and it indicates she is 23 yrs old which would make her born sometime around 1837. I did not find a marriage for her & John in Russell Co., but did find one for Rachel Brockman to George Antle......in 1863. IGI indicates Sarah & John Antle got married about 1850.......Of course, it could be way off. Marilyn
