    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Miller, Buster Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XBB.2ACE/1750 Message Board Post: I'm looking for any information on the marriage of James O. Miller M.D.(b.1857 d.1896) and Mattie Adelia Buster (b.1856 d.1928). Specifically, I'm trying to find out where and when they were married. He was from the Crocus area of Adair County and I believe that she may have been from Creelsboro in Russell County. They are both buried in the Miller Cemetery in Crocus. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Re: [RUSSELL COUNTY, KY] Griders in Haynes-Williams Cemetery
    2. I think I made a mistake in saying the Haynes-Williams Cemetery is in Russell County. My notes say it is "located north of Montpelier close to the Russell County line." It would then be in Adair County, KY. I grew up in this neighborhood years ago close to the Adair County line and the actual line was always sort of unclear to me.

There are two cemeteries where Allen and Margaret could be. First one (and this is the one we are leaning towards) is Flatt Cemetery close to Rock House Bottom in Creelsboro. Years ago this elderly lady in Ohio told us he was there and that his grave was to the right as you entered the cemetery and it was marked by two cedar post. Sure enough, when we returned the following year there was two cedar posts. Now, whether it's him or not is debateable. He did have a daughter who lived not far from Flatt Cemetery. There are two Perryman cemeteries and we have been to both. The Perryman Cemetery on Mann road is also not far from Creelsboro and Allen's parents and a brother & family are buried there. We cleared the cemetery about 3 years ago and found no stone for Allen or Margaret and we didn't find a sunken grave unmarked. I realize that doesn't mean anything but this is what we have to go on. Allen H. and Margaret are John's GG Grandparents. We do not have a death date on Margaret, can you help us? Do you know if Margaret remarried after Allen died? Thanks for any help you can shed on the subject!

Surnames: Conover Cravens Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XBB.2ACE/1749.1 Message Board Post: I just recently found dates on Mary Elizabeth Cravens, so I haven't had any luck finding her parents yet, but I do know where she is buried. Levi, her, and a bunch of others from the family are buried in the Perryman Cemetery on Rutledge Road. Rutledge Road is on the South side of HWY 80 between Adair and Russell, just as you are going down the hill towards Russell County. The cemetery is on the left, almost all the way at the end of the road. I have a list of the people buried from a cemetery book in the 1980s, and 14 graves are listed. According to a family member, 25-30 were there at one time. Now there are 7. That's counting the new stone that my grandpas cousin bought for Levi to replace his old one which was broke. Basically, whoever owns that land decided they were going to make a junk pile of it about 10 years ago. My cousin found half the stones pushed over the hill into a pile. He got Levi a new stone and fenced in the remaining graves. I just went out there a few days ago, and I'm not sure if Mary's grave is still standing or not, but that is where she is buried. Like I said, I don't know who her parents were, but there are a lot of old Cravens graves in other cemeteries. I will post something if I ever find anything out.

    3. Chris, I think it is the same family. His name was John Cole Blankenship. Lula was my husbands grandmother. I was married to Perry Joe Dykes, son of Arvis Dykes. Arvis' mom was Lula Blankenship Dykes. Lula also had a brother named Clarence, who has descendents on the list. Check out Frank E. Ferry's Family Treemaker page "The Unknown Dyches" He has personal interviews with Lula. I would love to put this family all together. I am a BLANKENSHIP descendent. 3. I must have missed the email you replied to, but I do want to comment on the location of a Perryman Cemetery. There is a Perryman Cemetery just across the Russell County line in Adair Co. I cannot find who is buried in this cemetery, but it is listed in Vol 3, Adair County Cemeteries. The specific location appears to be just across the Russell County line in Adair just south of Hwy. # 80 according to the Adair County RootsWeb.com site. This site is logical as it is close to Russell County where Allen H. Grider and Margaret J. Lester lived (based on census records). Secondly, this cemetery is not too far from where the parents (James L. and Amanda) of Margaret Lester lived. They, too, lived in Russell but are buried in Adair County. As to where specific Grider family members are buried, Barbara Coffee of this site most likely will know. Of the cemeteries listed on the Russell Co. RootsWeb site, none were named Perryman. As for Margaret J. Lester¹s (Grider) date of death, I have not been able to ascertain documented evidence supporting a specific date. I know she was alive in 1860 (age 29) along with her husband, Allen H. Grider, farmer, and children Lorenza (age 9), Bramlett (6) and Fulton (4). Margaret¹s brother, Samuel Lester, is also listed in this household whose occupation was listed as ³School Teacher². D.C. 3. Hello! I have been watching this list a couple of years without anything of much interest to me appearing. Today I started to unsubscribe when I decided to give it a try first. I am looking for information on a Minnie or Nancy BURNS DeROSSETT and her daughter, Beulah BURNS BROWN. "Minnie" or Nancy A. BURNS married Pleasant DeROSSETT July 24, 1906 in Clinton Co., Kentucky as his second wife. She brought a daughter about 5 years old into the marriage. This child was named Beulah BURNS. "Minnie" left "Plez" DeROSSETT and went either to Russell Co., KY or Casey Co., KY, where she may have remarried. The little girl, Beulah BURNS, grew up and married Leo BROWN on June 01, 1923 in Clinton Co., Kentucky. I have been told Beulah received an education, taught school, and either she or her mother were involved in the ownership of a BROWN Funeral Home somewhere in KY. Do these names or any of this sound familiar to anyone on this list? Sincerely, Anna Bertram abertram@heartoftn.net
