So you think Lucinda (Kerns) George and Almira/Elvira Rogers were sisters. hmm I don't know either. Do you know what happened to Lucinda Kerns and William George? You said...Edith Blankenship George, daughter of Jesse Blankenship, was my GGG grandmother and the Mother of Mary Polly and my John George,Jr. Are you talking about Mary Ann "Polly" GEORGE b.July 02, 1836? And if so are you saying Mary Ann "Polly" GEORGE b.1836 had a brother John GEORGE Jr.? And iff so then if John is her brother and a Jr. wouldn't the father be a John and not a Robert? ( Just trying to get what you say correct ) You also say Edith and Mr. GEORGE had a daughter Lavinia George who married George W Goodman. You also said....Also there is a GEORGE-ROGERS connection in Pulaski Co.,Ky that I suspect connects with our families. On one Russell County census a Nancy George apparently appears out of nowhere and I believe this is Nancy Rogers George from Pulaski County. Hmm What's the time frame of this George ROGERS and Nancy ROGERS? For children of Mary Ann "Polly" GEORGE and James Franklin KERNS in my tree maker I only have Florence D. KERNS in it. I do have Mary Ann "Polly" GEORGE married a 2nd time to John H. BLEDSOE married September 05, 1862 in Russell Counrty, Kentucky. See the Guardian's Bond info below. Apparently, probably after Lucinda's death?? William George left Russell County and migrated with some of the GEORGE family to Camden,Lynn, or Miller Co.,MO. I do not know if his children went later on but they lived with Almira Kerns Rogers for awhile. I have found the marriage of Lucinda Kerns to William George and Almira Kerns to Wiley Rogers but I can not proove that they were sisters. Edith Blankenship George, daughter of Jesse Blankenship, was my GGG grandmother and the Mother of Mary Polly and my John George,Jr. There were other children for Edith and Mr. George, one of which was Lavinia George who married George W Goodman and migrated to Jackson County, MO. I strongly suspect that Edith George was married to Robert George, probably the same Robert that was married to Sally Owen and that Agnes George was her step daughter. Also there is a GEORGE-ROGERS connection in Pulaski Co.,Ky that I suspect connects with our families. On one Russell County census a Nancy George apparently appears out of nowhere and I believe this is Nancy Rogers George from Pulaski County. I have spent many hours in the Library and the Court House and can not solve this puzzle. Anything you come across would be appreciated. Thanks for the info on Florence D. Kerns. Are there more children for Mary Polly and James Kerns? Sharon

I'm not related to the Marcum family; my interest lies with the shootings and eventual outcome of the Lingle case. Curiously, both the Russell County News and the Adair County News carried brief articles about the Lingle shooting and then short articles about the first trial (in Larue County in February, 1943) but nothing about the second trial or the outcome. Again, my thanks for your response.
