There is a lot of my Richards family who is buried in that cemetary (in fact it started out being called the Richards Cemetary) and in reading this thread, I just wondered if you knew if there is a list that exists? I traveled up there from Memphis, TN a few years ago to visit the graves of my great-grandparents, my grandmother and see other family graves with my father, J.W.Richards. Dad grew up in a log cabin very near there and attended Blair School for a very short time. Dad is now 76. In fact, if you are standing in the little graveyard facing the tombstones, to your right, across the "yard" (there used to be a house there) you will go down a hill and down there is where the cabin is. The land is now owned by the Millers who I met when we made that trip. Mr. Miller not only remembered Dad but recalled a story about Dad shooting his cat (the cat survived!). I have a picture o! > f the old Blair schoolhouse that Dad took back in the 1940's that I can share. > I appreciate, in advance, any info that you can give me. > By the way, you probably know this, but the Grider's and the Richards families are VERY intertwined. > > Stephanie Richards Jackson > > > > ==== KYRUSSEL Mailing List ==== > To unsubscribe from KYRUSSEL-L, send mail to KYRUSSEL-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word unsubscribe in the message subject and body. > > ============================== > Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records. > New content added every business day. Betty: I would love to have a copy. Johnny Whittle was a cousin to my husband. He was killed as a very young man when his tractor fell on him. I have a great picture of my husband and his brother with Johnny that was taken not too long before he was killed. I know his two sisters and was at the home of Lillie and Omer several times when my husband and I were courting. Jan Wilson Kings Mills, Ohio In a message dated 1/10/2006 1:47:27 P.M. I have not been able to get back any further with certainty than Francis Marion McElroy who married the two Bailey sisters.. My husbands Aunt married the great grandson of Francis M. thru his son Archibald b: 1864 in Adair Co., and his grandson Alvin (twin of Oliver) b: 1890. I can find nothing further than him unless I go to Lee, VA.........There you will find several Francis, Oliver's, Williams etc. I'm pretty sure the line goes back to VA. Marilyn
Hi Betty, I would like a copy of that article. Pamme's 1849 and your 1871 could be father and son or uncle to nephew possibly. As for Austin, childhood death was so common he may not have lived until the next census in 1890. I'm assuming you have checked the 1890 census?
