Hi everyone! My name is Lisa VonLanken and I've been doing genealogy research on my Russell County family for years, but over the last 3 years, my research dropped off dramatically due to a stressful job situation. But now I'm back and ready to jump in again! I've been going through my files and trying to find out where I am in each line and I've been looking at some books with marriage bonds and consent notes. Can anyone tell me what "b.s. by" means? I think it might mean "bond signed by", but even if that's the case, I'm not sure exactly what that means. Any ideas? I have been told that Georganne was sister to my Jane Elmantaller who married Gallatin Bradshaw in Russell Springs, KY in 1865 at the home of Nathan and Susan Cartwright. Several of the Elmantallers are mentioned in Susan Cartwright's will. The ancestor of this line is supposed to be Michael Helmantel who came from Germany. One of the girls, I think, was Parthenia, born in Smith County, TN in 1828, who married G. C. Flippin in 1856 in Smith County, TN. She is listed as the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Heelmantoller. You can find info on the will and whatever is known of this line at: http://genforum.genealogy.com under Helmandollar. Do you have any info on a Georganne Helmonteller (Elmonteller) who marred a Bennet in Russel Co. She was born 1839. They had a son Dave. Family story is the husband was mean. She left with Dave (who ws about 3years) and supposedly was PG. She went to Metcalfe Co and lived until 1929. I have never been able to tie up her married past in Russel Co. Thanks Sandy
