A couple of questions. Was Long tract called that because it was a cemetery for "Long family" or for Long Bottom? The Piney Woods cemetery mentioned, is that now called Pine Grove? Thanks. Allen E. Long

Jesse and Molly Worsham Blankenship are buried on what was the old Tommy Hay farm, not in the hay field! Where that is, I'm not sure, but it is probably near Swan Pond. There are two Wooldridge cemeteries in Swan Pond, one newer that is on the road. The other is back on a small knoll that you have to walk to. It is on the left as you are traveling toward the river but I don't remember if it is visible from the road. Good Luck.

Hi, I am still actively doing genealogy. My main interest is the Stephens family of Russell, Pulaski and Wayne Co, KY, but have info on the others also. She married John Jackson Whittle on 16 MAR 1860 in Russell Co., KY. They apparently had children before they were married. One was named Artese Richards, female, born 21 AUG 1858. I do not know what happened to this child. In the 1860 Russell Co., KY Census, John and Nancy have two children, Larena, age 3, and Ivy, age 1. IVY WHITTLE is my great grandfather. By the 1870 Russell Co., Census, there is no Larena, but they have 6 children. Below are listed ALL of the children of record, up to the 1900 Census: Ivy, b. 1859 Analiza, 1860 Charles, 1863 William S. Glenda, On the assumption you have not been getting my mail either, I'm reluctantly posting to this site in the hope you see it. I, too, have sent you email concerning the Russell County Beech Grove Church of Christ. Have you received email since Oct. 14th. from me? I've sent at least 3 or 4 subsequent to that date. I don’t know if you will remember, but you may have just filled in a major piece of the puzzle. When you and I first started talking, I mentioned a lady named Betty Brown who was working on the family line of George Akers McKinney, but he much older than our George Akers (son of Charles Peyton). She mentioned that her George had a brother Charles, and at that time, I told her that it couldn’t be our George because Charles was George’s father. What you have just found out is major, because now we do have a Charles (your g-grandfather) who is the brother of George Akers. Now, hopefully, she can fill in some important blanks. I will carbon copy Betty on this response to re-request information on her McKinney ancestry, and will let you know the results of that research. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! Mark P.S. BTW, have you gotten anything more from Minnesota regarding your g-grandfather’s death?
