Hi, I hate to bother you but is there by any chance a William W. Bernard b 1813 d 1887 or Celia Perkins(Bernard) b abt 1816 d 1881 listed there. They are listed everywhere as having born and died in Russel county but have yet to find out where, Any Bernards, Fords, or Perkins would be very helpful. Good News: NGS GENTECH 2004 is only two weeks away. Even Better News: The hotel rate is $99, not the higher figures your might have seen in other notices Here are the Particulars about the Conference: NGS GENTECH 2004 will be in held in St. Louis on January 22-24. Now, as a new division of the National Genealogical Society, NGS GENTECH will sponsor conferences that continue to meet the needs of advanced users and those new to using technology in research. Each year the conference has featured a panel of nationally known speakers who have addressed themselves to every aspect of the use of computer and Internet technology to support genealogical research - to meet the needs of advanced users as well as those just beginning to use technology in their research. This year there will be a Librarians' Pre-Conference at NGS GENTECH on Thursday, January 22, 2004 which will feature talks by Cyndi Howells, Ruth Ann Hager and Matt Helm. Details of this special Pre-Conference are at: www.slcl.lib.mo.us/slcl/sc/gentech04/precon-schedule.htm. In addition to the Librarian's Pre-Conference, Thursday will feature two-hour tutorials on four important topics: * Building a Family Genealogy Web site * Mapping Workshop * Federal Web Sites * Digital Photography. I was looking over the census records collected. According to the official census date of 1 June 1860 - William was alive, 84 years of age, declared insane and listed as being able to read and write. The census taker was at the door on 18 June 1860. He was residing in the home of Ephraim CAIN in Russell Dist., Russell Co. KY. Margaret is not listed therefore she most likely died after June 1 1850, but before 1 June 1860. William was definitely alive on 1 June 1860, but he may have actually died after that date and before the census taker arrived on 18 June 1860. Who knows which census takers followed the rules? Please tell us more about Anna CAIN, dau of William and Margaret. This is the first I've heard her name. Who did she marry? Where did she live? I like hearing about the siblings and their spouses names. Thanks for the help. Diane in CA
