My ancestors from next-door Adair County, Ky were Christopher Brown, 96 in the 1860 census and Stephen Brown who was 66 then. It is possible that these you mentioned were descendants of Christopher Brown who was born (according to one census) in Sussex, England. I have been told that some of the Browns from my line went to Illinois but no proof of that.

Debbie: Square Oak Cemetery is partially in ONO........but I don't have any MI's. Mary Frances Wade might.........mfwade@duo-county.com Marilyn
The cemetery at the Adair/Russell Co. line is the Bethel/bethleham Church and Cemetery. It should be listed in the Russell Co. Cemetery list. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - 50x more storage than other providers!
Does anyone know anything about a cemetery at Ono? I've been corresponding with an Ashbrook who says there are some Ashbrook graves cir. late 1800's. He says he last visited it in 1980's and the stones were crumbling then. Also an old notebook I "inhereited" lists a cemetery at the "Adair-Russell Co. line near the Separate Baptist Church on Hwy 80". (again supposed to have Ashbrook graves) Any info on these cemeteries greatly appreciated. Debbie
Thanks Gary: The one I want is April 1891, but I'm sure I'll find others I want in that first will book. Marilyn

I have my own Microfiche, but that won't work.......Wish I could get some on Fiche. Marilyn
Marilyn, I don't know if they still are available from the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, but they used to provide microfilm copies of the county records for a small fee - $10.00 for 16mm and $15.00 for 35mm. These included microfilmed copies of will books [almost all of Russell County's were available on one 16mm reel], marriage records, deed books, etc. You might want to consider that if you are convenient to a library with a working microfilm reader.
