I haven't looked at this line for a while. I just retired in September and I am going through my files trying to get my summaries (I do a little summary on each surname that I am researching for posting purposes) up to date. Every so often I review new data that I have collected and update my summary. I know that when I was reviewing this it reminded me of the same thing that you bring up. There are several different Sarah's that could be her. Let me review my file again and give you my reasons for or against each of them and I will get back to you. Thanks Betty. I do have a lot of info on the Hart line but some of these dates and people I did not have. The only thing I have been doing on the Hart line is trying to find out more about Socrates' parents, Robert Hart and Dorcas (Harris) Hart. I know Robert was born in Virginia in 1793 and Dorcas was b. in Virginia in 1798. I know also that he came to Russell County with his sister Elizabeth in 1820. Elizabeth was 14 years old at the time and she married a Popplewell when she was 35 yrs. old. I have often thought that Robert was probably connected to Nathaniel Hart and John Hart, brothers who were in Kentucky very early. Do you have anything? Often wondered if Robert came from the John Hart (signer of the Declaration of Independence.) I would love to prove that if it's true. Jan Jan In a message dated 12/31/2004 2:37:02 P.M. I think what the problem with some people........Perhaps even myself, is that when you have worked with your own research for many years and share it with someone and they turn around a put it on Ancestry or Genealogy. com as their own.........early research mistakes and all............or, you have shared your information with Ancestry & Genealogy.com, which some of us did in the beginning.........then, when we want information and pay for it we get some of the information back that we already did ourselves. I have given my research freely to any "cousin" who asked. I worked for several days inputing a particular line of a family into my computer just so I could help out and share it with another individual only to have him put in immediately into Ancestry. com as his own.....but, there is no way that can be helped and it's not Ancestry's fault..........but if you pay for information you hope it is right and most often when someone gives information to a company like Ancestry/Genealogy .com it is not always correct and it keeps perpetuating and sooner or later becomes fact whether it's right or not....... This may make me unpopular with the list but I want to say I am a very satisfied customer of Ancestry.com and have been for years. I have not had any problems with them and have found their technical support to be very helpful. A subscription to Ancestry.com has saved me a lot of money. Just one weekend trip to access records at a courthouse or library in another town or state used to cost me more than I now pay for a year's subscription. In addition to this I can access the census images and other information just about anytime and anyplace I wish to do so. If I can't sleep I can get up during the night and work on genealogy. Not true of court houses and public libraries! Thank goodness we live in a free country where we have a choice. My choice is to keep my subscription active with Ancestry.com And, by the way, I also have Genealogy.com and like it too. Sincerely, Anna Bertram abertram@heartoftn.net

What, if any, connection exists to Jacob Brown who ran a trading post on the Nolachuckey River in Greene Cty., Tn. in 1772. This Jacob Brown came from SC and NC and was one of the first permanent residents in Tennessee. Jacob also called Isaac. Believe this Jacob may connect back to the Jacob Brown who was in the South Carolina Revolutionary War troops. Jacob Brown Sr. and Jacob Brown Jr. both served in the war in the same regiment. They lived in the part of NC that later became part of Tennessee (Washington County.) Does anyone have any information that will shed any light on this? I sure would appreciate anything. Nancy Brown was my husband's gg grandmother. Please email _jjemmett@aol.com_ (mailto:jjemmett@aol.com) Jan Wilson Kings Mills, Ohio
