John Kelley/Kelly, 11 Jun 1830 - 18 Feb 1917, of Carter, Elliott and Rowan Counties, who performed many marriages in the area around Haldeman. In particular, his daughter Nancy E. Kelley married William H. Stevens on 17 Apr 1901 in Carter Co. They divorced sometime between 1910 and 1920. Nancy remarried to a Watson probably in early 1920, but I do not know the given name of her second husband, whom she may also have divorced. Nancy was living in Rowan County in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses, so her second marriage and the divorce record(s) are likely to be in Rowan Co. So a lookup of Kelly/Kelley and Stevens/Stephens marriage and divorce records from the 1920's would be much appreciated.
