Hi Darrel, I was looking at your PERKINS line that you posted on FamilyTree through the Rowan County, US Gen Web page. I grew up in Rowan County. My Dad's side of the family... they all grew up around OWEN County, Kentucky. I am a direct descendant of John D. Perkins SR and John Perkins JR. through their first daughter, Julia Ann Perkins who married, Henry P. Lancaster... and on down that line! Julia's sibling and oldest brother Benjamin Perkins had a son named Alvin PERKINS and they eventually worked their way down from Owen County to Morgan and Rowan counties, Kentucky. The place you mention as Lusks Mill should be Lusby's Mill, Owen Co., Kentucky. MANY of my Souder family and collateral lines are from the Lusby's Mill and surrounding areas of Canby, New Columbus and Dog Walk areas! I went to school with several PERKIN's boys in Rowan County... and come to find out.... they ARE my 4th cousins .... but not from the Rowan, Bath or Morgan counties but through my Owen County PERKINS and collateral lines.... I just had to call one of them and tell them, that while went through school together... we never knew we were related and probably would NEVER have known had it not been for the advent of the Internet and these great resources we share. Isn't that interesting! Just wanted to share and thank you for you posting. By the way, those living Perkins are Jerry, Glennis, Roy and Troy Perkins all of Morehead, Kentucky. Jerry and I both graduated with the Class of 1968 from Rowan County High School. We played on the basketball team together. I found this connection through your posting of the extensive PERKINs descendants. Thank you for your help! Johnny M. Souder
