Shirley Toohey >> Hi Shirley, Saw your post and wanted to suggest you contact the Alderson list. A Reverand Alderson's name shows up on several marriage licenses in Rowan county. He married my grandmother and grandfather, and I noticed on the Register, that an Alderson girl was married a few days before my grandmother in Sept, 1896. Rev. Alderson was part of the Slaty Creek (I'm not sure if I'm spelling that right. My notes are buried in the mess of a desk right now) Church, and it's still an active church. I think it's in Mt. Sterling. You might find some folks descended through the Alderson line that may be able to help you. Nola Thacker Austin, TX
