Jesse DAVIS, a RW veteran who lived to be over 100, spent most of his later life in Fleming Co eventually dying in Rowan Co in 1857 after it was formed from part of Fleming. Jesse had a son William and I think this is the William from whom I am descended. My William left Fleming Co in 1830 for St Louis. I know little about Jesse's remaining children Mary, Nancy, Jarvis, Joyce CASSITY, Benjamin, Alitha and Jesse Jr. I'm hoping perhaps that someone has researched one or more of these children and might have access to data that might help me prove my William's connection to Jesse. Some other circumstantial evidence that leads me to believe my William is Jesse's son is - William was married to Rachael BARNES in Fleming Co. Jesse's daughter Joyce was married to Isaac CASSITY in Fleming Co. The BARNES families and the CASSITY families had land dealings in the county. Jesse's pension files shows he had a son William. My evidence all points to them being related but I have no hard proof. Perhaps one of you Fleming/Rowan researchers has some help for me. Thanks - George
