<< Subj: Emmons graveyards Date: 7/18/00 7:58:35 PM Eastern Daylight Time From: johnvice@kih.net (John Vice) To: VMcca43559@aol.com (Vivian McCarty) Vivian, I deleted all the talk about the Emmons graveyards, until some things dawned on me. So, I don't know exactly what names you may have been seeking, but I have a listing for 2 different Emmons graveyards near the area you are talking about (Ramey) but they are in Fleming Co. I am somewhat confused by their locations listed as it says they are at Rock Lick (when I thought at least one Emmons graveyard was just across from the old Ringos Mill Covered Bridge in Fleming Co.) Rock Lick is an area that is off the road that leads between Hillsboro & Sharkey in Fleming Co. Anyway, could you give me the names of the people you were told were buried in an Emmons graveyard & I will look at my list (I will keep it at my computer until you reply back to me) & tell you if the person you thought buried there shows up. Looks like there is what is called "Old Emmons Graveyard" & one called just plain "Emmons Graveyard." All located between Hillsboro & Sharkey (Sharkey is right on the Fleming/Rowan Co. line & it is where Route 801 starts that eventually intersects (after about 5-8 miles) with U.S. 60. Will away await your reply. John >> Hi John, I got my GGGrandmothers Death certificate and it stated she was buried in the Emmons Cemetery, Ramey KY. I never knew where Ramey KY was but I knew where my GGgrandparents as well as Grandparents lived. Now I know that Ramey KY was around I-64 at exit 113? I know my GGGrandparents and Grandparents had the property that lay about the Fleming County line at Sharkey across #801 to Farmers.@ us 60... How many Acres I don't know but I do know that My GGGGrandfather Josiah Hiatt had at least 240 Acres on the Triplett Creek so its most probable some of this property was from his? Anyway...That Emmons Cemetery on # 158 is that the one you are talking about? My Grandfather George Hiatt/Hyatt used to have a General Store at the same location except where the Trailer sets now that is a Beauty Shop. Across the lane from the General Store at the Fleming County Line right now.....theone on #158 at 801. I know that is where this all took place. I doubt that there will be a head stone but her name was Nancy Ann Hiatt/Hyatt. She was the Daughter of Elijah Royse and Sylvanna Tabor who married Robert Kissick after Elijah died or they divorced? Thanks....I appreciate all this help. Viv
