    1. Our Indian Stories............
    2. I was so proud of Joanne for starting her researchof her Indian Heritage. I know I heard all my life that I was Indian and Irish. This came from both sides of my family. These stories are true...they weren't contrived. My Father told me his grandmother was full blooded Cherokee...what percentage that makes me I haven't a clue. Do you devide it like Pie? That way I would be 1/4? Anyway, I grew up knowing my indian heritage but....Along came the census and no indians. This has been a source of aggrivation and frustration for every researcher with Indian Heritage. I think its time for a Roll Call of just the ones who were ALLEGED to be or have Indian connections. Me First:: MCCULLEY......MCARTY BASFORD.......MCCLAIN HIATT.........SHEPHERD HYATT.........SWEARINGEN GREGORY.......GOLDY,GOLDIE MCKENZIE......HIGHLEY THORNBURG.....COPHER PERRILL.......GIBBS BROWN.........WILSON PERRY.........ETAL: See, I and my husband are eat up with Scotch/Irish/Indian names. If we all work together maybe we can come up with what the census didn't do. There was fear to admit to being an indian inthe early days so.....no one admitted to it. Its ok now...I promise. Have fun now and lets hear those stories on the list for all of us to share along with the surnames. That is if........you are really ready to hear about your Heritage.
