Jesse MEEKS 21 Jan. 1897 Any comments on who they belong to? I need lots of help with this family since they are so few in the early census. As you can see, one of my BASFORDS married into a family of DONATHANS. In the 1850 BAth Co. KY Census it shows on page 73 [for those of you who have books that Alice Reynolds did] # 615 that the head of household is John Donathan Jr. age 21 farmer. Living with him is his mother Nancy [nee Basford] Donathan age 60 B born VA. I was always told I had Indian ancestry...What is this Black and Mulotto defination? The family above them # 614 is Sarah DONATHAN age 40 b. KY Evaline Donathan 25 George A. Donathan 13 B [female] Louisa 12 M Emily J. 10 Mary 11 B Jack 2 As you can see some of the children are not listed as anything so they were considered white? I would love to hear from some of the Donathan Descendents to see what their idea about this is?
