I Got my GGgrandmothers Death Certificate today and I have more questions. First I want to say how important it is to know as much as you can about your subject. The place of death: ROWAN COUNTY Voting Pct. # 2 Farmers She was married to James Elihu HIATT b. Dec.. 26, 1844 fleming Co. KY son of Josiah HIATT b. ca. 1823 m. 1844 Charlotte GREGORY in Fleming Co. KY The informant was her son Allen Hiatt/Hyatt and he stated her father was ELIGA ROYSE place of birth KY Mother Anna Kissick birth place KY. Now, If I had just started out I would be chasing a KISSICK for awhile until someone said...that is not correct. The fact of the matter is......See, I know she was the daughter of Elijah ROYSE and Sylvanna "Anna" TABOR. I know this because I found their marriage in the Fleming Co. Marriages. I know because of the 1850 Fleming County Census.....and I know that sometime after 1850 Elijah ROYSE died/or they were divorced and Anna married Robert Kissick who was divorced. Yes, Anna Kissick was her mother but she was born a TABOR not a KISSICK. Now, my question is: Where is the EMMONS Cemetery and where in the world is RAMEY, KY? This one is a new one to me.
