I am wondering if any of y'all can point me in the right direction and hoping/trusting that you can! I was asked by a distant cousin this morning if I knew anything about the reputed murder of Deputy Sheriff Stewart BAUMGARDNER by one Patrick CONN during what was apparently known as the 'Rowan County War' in 1885. Stewart is said to be mentioned in a folk song about the feud. So far I don't have Patrick CONN in my database but if he is from the area I am sure he will fil in sooner or later. Thanks!
