Hall died. He was born about 1908 in Rowan county, and he married my mother, Gladys Amanda Dennis in Rowan County October 1929. They divorced and he died some years later from a beating. But, I don't know where he died or the exact date. He's listed on Terri Pettit's files as the child of Albert D. Hall and Martha Bell McClain. so if he was related to anyone on the Rowan list, and you know when or where he died, I would appreciate hearing back from you. I believe he would have died after 1946 and prior to 1958. His father's obit on the Rowan county site, lists Albert Hall's "surviving children", and Marion is not listed among them. thanks in advance for any help or suggestions of where to look I haven't found him on the Social Security death index. I believe he may have had a military pension, because I know he was in the military and stationed overseas during WWII. Nola Thacker nolabert@earthlink.net

    1. [KYROWAN] My PERKINs connection...
    2. jms
    3. Hi Darrel, I was looking at your PERKINS line that you posted on FamilyTree through the Rowan County, US Gen Web page. I grew up in Rowan County. My Dad's side of the family... they all grew up around OWEN County, Kentucky. I am a direct descendant of John D. Perkins SR and John Perkins JR. through their first daughter, Julia Ann Perkins who married, Henry P. Lancaster... and on down that line! Julia's sibling and oldest brother Benjamin Perkins had a son named Alvin PERKINS and they eventually worked their way down from Owen County to Morgan and Rowan counties, Kentucky. The place you mention as Lusks Mill should be Lusby's Mill, Owen Co., Kentucky. MANY of my Souder family and collateral lines are from the Lusby's Mill and surrounding areas of Canby, New Columbus and Dog Walk areas! I went to school with several PERKIN's boys in Rowan County... and come to find out.... they ARE my 4th cousins .... but not from the Rowan, Bath or Morgan counties but through my Owen County PERKINS and collateral lines.... I just had to call one of them and tell them, that while went through school together... we never knew we were related and probably would NEVER have known had it not been for the advent of the Internet and these great resources we share. Isn't that interesting! Just wanted to share and thank you for you posting. By the way, those living Perkins are Jerry, Glennis, Roy and Troy Perkins all of Morehead, Kentucky. Jerry and I both graduated with the Class of 1968 from Rowan County High School. We played on the basketball team together. I found this connection through your posting of the extensive PERKINs descendants. Thank you for your help! Johnny M. Souder

    3. We found a fair amount of both microfilmed and original records at the Kentucky Archives in Frankfort, Kentucky when we visited there last year. If you have specific information, you can pay for a search and copies. I had made contact with the KY Archives the year before by mail. After successfully finding some documents, my husband and I decided to incorporate going to the Archives as part of a vacation last year. It was great. There was so much information there that's not yet available online. I'm still looking for court documents on a murder trial of my two grand uncles; Marion Francis Dennis and Tuble Mathias Dennis. I have a copy of the original murder indictment where they were charged with shooting a William Igo. The indictment was later marked "not guilty by reason of self defense". If anyone on list is working on the descendants of either Greenberry Dennis (wife Nancy E. Manning Dennis) or the family of William Igo, I would love to exchange information. The murder of William Igo took place early 1900's. (my files are a mess right now since we rearranged our home office, but I'm hoping to get things in order in the next couple of weeks. So if anyone is working on the Igo or Dennis or Manning families, I should be able to share some info with you soon). thanks, Nola Thacker ----- Original Message ----- From: <KYROWAN-D-request@rootsweb.com> To: <KYROWAN-D@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 04, 2003 9:01 AM Subject: KYROWAN-D Digest V03 #19

For 1820 I would recommend checking Bath Co and Fleming Co. (Mitchell was mostly a Bath Co name in that time frame; I don't know about Case.) Teri Pettit

    2. First Families
    3. Hello Everyone: Those of you who are working on your lines back to your 1600s American Ancestors will find the1600s Ancestors Data Base to be of great help. My recent postings to the Data Base has taken it to over 26,500 Ancestors who have descendants living today. I have also added several National Societies who have proven many of these Ancestors. Also at this time a few new respected Reference works that contain thousands of sources including some of the early colonists who have Royal Blood lines. All the entries are coded to indicate to which reference work or which National Society has at least one of their proven lines. Several of the National Societies have over 20 different lines from a single Ancestor. When you enter the 1600s Ancestor Data Base be sure to look at the top of each data page for the link that takes you to the "Data Base Information Page" Here you will find the codes and references listed and how to use them. This is must reading to understand the Data Base. We are constantly updating the Data Base with additional Ancestors added as time permits. You will find the 1600s Ancestor Data Base at: http://www.firstfamilies.org/db/ Everyone has FREE access to all our web site and the reports contained there.
