Am seeking information on Bob Porter. He was probably born in the 1870's and died near Morehead in the late 1950's or early 1960's. He was supposed to have had about 20 children. He lived for some time in Wisconscin. Any information regarding this family would be most appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Judy :)

Hello Listers: I am hoping to find someone familiar with the family of William Johnson b. 1838 in Indiana and Catherine Gertrude Hunt b. 1842 in KY. They were supposedly married in Dec. 1859 in Bath Co. I have information that the graves of Will and his wife Catherine were elocated to Ginter Cemetery. I have also searched the 1900, 1880, 1870, 1860 & 1850 census and gathered data. William's parents may be James Johnson and Zerilda Jarvis who were married in 1834 in Ripley Co., IN. Does this family sound familiar to anyone. We have a list of children as follows: . WILLIAM2 JOHNSON + (JAMES1) was born 1838 in IN or KY, and died Bet. 1880 - 1900 in Prob. Rowan Co., KY. He married CATHERINE G. HUNT + December 1859 in Bath Co., KY, daughter of WILLIAM HUNT and KATHERINE WILLIAMS. She was born March 02, 1842 in Bath Co., KY, and died 1909 in Prob. Rowan Co., KY. More About WILLIAM JOHNSON +: Census: 1880, Beaver, Menifee Co., KY (Pg. 685D) Children of WILLIAM JOHNSON and CATHERINE HUNT are: i. WILLIAM3 JOHNSON, b. 1861, KY. ii. ANNIE JOHNSON, b. 1862. iii. MARY JOHNSON, b. 1863, KY. iv. EARNESTINE (ERNEST) JOHNSON, b. April 21, 1863, Menifee Co., KY; d. August 02, 1918, Rowan Co., KY. v. VIOLA ("JOSEPHINE?") JOHNSON, b. 1867, KY. vi. please check your systems for W32BadTrans.B infection; Perhaps if we can use the subject line as I did on this post we can get the message to those with infected machines? >From my machine, I can't even do reply to without getting the illegal performance message so I can't obtain the real address from File/Properties Just as it is important to work together to find our families and tear down our brick walls, I think it is important to try to help one another fight these danged virus/worms too! Have a great day everyone and remember to leave attachments alone! Dianna aka justpeachy@greenhills.net
On the post I sent with the subject line "OT/Concerning virus posts" I received a post back from the Mail Administrator informing me of the following: Recipient: <VARUSSELL-L@rootsweb.com> Reason: 5.1.1 <VARUSSELL-L@rootsweb.com>... User unknown Recipient: <ARHOTSPRING-L@rootsweb.com> Reason: 5.1.1 <ARHOTSPRING-L@rootsweb.com>... User unknown Recipient: <ARSEBASTIAN-L@rootsweb.com> Reason: 5.1.1 <ARSEBASTIAN-L@rootsweb.com>... User unknown This seems odd to me that I would be listed "User unknown" as I am getting mail FROM these lists. Curioser and curioser!
I know we have been asked not to discuss the virus situation on many of these lists so I am not asking for a discussion BUT I apparently been the recipient of the BadTrans.B worm numerous times since last Saturday. >>>Often arriving with a subject line of Re: and nothing else, the BadTrans.B worm can autolaunch itself onto your system using the one of the same vulnerabilities exploited by the Nimda worm. http://antivirus.about.com/library/weekly/aa112401a.htm <<< When I get these posts, I certainly don't open the attachment but the post will give me a flag message saying: Msimn This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vender. The post will then freeze my Outlook Express and I will have to exit and then bring up OE again. (sometimes again and again and again before I can get off the post to delete it)! I cannot respond to the folks whose names are listed to let them know they have a problem. Is anyone else having this problem? I am certain that other than the idiots who seem to delight in causing problems for the rest of us with computers, NO ONE would knowingly and maliciously send these infected attachments. The batch this afternoon apparently has three infected machines involved. In an effort to alert those with a problem would it be okay to use "check for BadTrans.B" in the subject line and then list the parties the posts are coming from? The three I have this PM are from "Jones" "(null)" and "Chief" As I said, I am NOT opening any of the attachments and Symantec says my system is clean Thanks! Dianna Gilliam justpeachy@greenhills.net

Debbie Freeman here. Checking to see if messages are getting though.
My name is Deborah Freeman and I am looking for any Roses from Rowan County. My great-grandparents lived in Rowan Co. around the 1800's. Thier names were Nathanal Rose who married a Mary Henderson. They had 4 girls. When Nathan rose died-- Mary Henderson married one Francis Marion Howard. I think Nathan Rose died around the 1920's. Would like any connects about them .
Hello All, This is being sent to you in case you haven't already heard about it before. I have just uncovered information that asks Kentuckians (or, I guess even people from out of the state of Kentucky) to let Kentucky's Task Force on Cemetery Preservation (Office of the Kentucky Attorney General) know about the location of Cemeteries which can allow the state of Kentucky provide proper aid, etc. The 38 member Task Force on Cemetery Preservation was formed by order of Gov. Patton sometime earlier this year. This sounds like a way to apply for aid to many of the historic & abandoned cemeteries throughout Kentucky. I know I have heard many persons on many of these mailing lists express concerns about the condition & care of old abandoned cemeteries here in Kentucky. There is a more detailed explanation at the following website (all or most questions you have can be answered when you visit this website): www.kyattorneygeneral.com/cemetery Time is short. From the above website, you can download a form to be filled out (or the form is also said to be available at the county judge's offices throughout Kentucky). IMPORTANT--This form must be filled out & submitted no later than August 15, 2001. So, if you have a cemetery (or cemeteries) within Kentucky that you are interested in having the State of Kentucky providing aid to, this form can filled out by any interested person & mailed as instructed (especially historic cemeteries that are overgrown, abandoned, and neglected). Hope this interests all of you. John Vice
