3-22-2009: From Richmond, Indiana "Pal-Item" Russell "Denny" Hansel, age 67, of Centerville, went to be with his Lord on Friday (March 20, 2009). He was born June 4, 1941, in Mt. Vernon, Ky. to Louis and Daisy (Cummins) Hansel. He retired from Dana Corp. after 30 years of service. He was a loving husband and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sarah "Libby" Hansel. He is also survived by his children, Carol Brabaw (husband, Bruce) and Lew Hansel (wife, Elise); two granddaughters, Sarah and Danielle Brabaw; special cousins, Carol Cain, Martha Rose, Gayle Cate; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Louis and Daisy Hansel; a brother and a special aunt, Lucille Henry. He will be sorely missed by many. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday (March 23, 2009) in the Galilean Baptist Church, 204 S. Morton, Centerville. Pastor John Maples will officiate. Burial will be in Williamsburg Cemetery.
