5-21-2008: From Richmond, Indiana "Pal-Item" Paul R. Scott, 76, of Richmond, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Reid Hospital after an extended illness. He was born March 3, 1932, in Rockcastle County, Ky., to William Hiram Sr. and Ella M. Jennings Scott and lived here since 1953. Paul retired from Belden Corp. in 1989 and was an Army veteran. Survivors include two sons, Richard and wife Cindie Scott of Centerville and Mark A. Scott of Richmond; two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Scott and Lora Abigail Scott; two great-grandchildren, Owen Drake Matthews and Brena Mae Matthews; two brothers, Ernest A. Scott of Norwood, Ohio, and David Warren Scott of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Myrtle Josephine Nelson of Thousand Palms, Calif., Kathleen Powell of Richmond, and Betty Planck of Norwood, Ohio; nieces and nephews. One son, Dennis Keith Scott died Feb. 23, 2008; his parents; and eight brothers and sisters, James Scott, William Scott Jr., Ruby Irene Bougher, Bonnie Jean Durham, Phyllis Ann Scott, Virginia Scott, Charles Scott, and Calvin Eugene Scott are also deceased. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Maples officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville. Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
