I believe that Katy and Capitola Slaughter are daughters of Daniel G. Slaughter and Mary E. Stevens. Information of how they fit into my lines can be found on the two webpages below. http://www.nose4bs.com/Ky_Judge_John.htm James Fish Carson (son of Judge John Evans Carson and Marcinda W. They seemed to always go to where family were. You can take their census neighbor names to Rootsweb and then with the Index, look for the Lawrence name to see if there is a distant relative in that particular family. You can build on your knowledge that way. You can also find more researchers for your relative and someone will have more and different info than you. We found a family member who had a notation in family papers about the murder of the Slaughter father. So, we had one more new clue to go with. And, then by accident, a divorce petition showed that Green Slaughter had an indictment against him for murder. I haven't been able to get to Frankfort to the Ky Library to find the indictment, but that will help me with further research. I think if you discover exactly why your Lawrence changed his name, you will get more info. Any petition papers for war money will be a good source for info, list of witnesses to say that the petition is accurate. Sometimes those witnesses are family. Rose B ----------------------------
