On 24 Nov 1909 when Walter Thurman was 26, he married Nellie Beauford Martin, daughter of William Curtis Martin & Lucy Ann Williams, in Decatur, IL. Born on 7 Aug 1890 in Berea, Rockcastle Co., KY. Nellie Beauford died in Jul 1964, she was 73. They had the following children: 3 i. Melvin Paul (1916-1976) ii. Lucy Ann. Born on 27 Oct 1917. Lucy Ann died on 27 Oct 1917. Does anyone have any information on the William Southard that married Nancy Pitman in Rockcastle Co? William and Nancy had 2 known children.... Mary and James. James Southard married Mary Elizabeth Bradley in Rockcastle Co. William would have been born 1850/51 according to census records. His father born in NC and his mother in KY.
