Would anyone with access to the '1830' Laurel Co KY Census please let me know if my gg-grandfather George W Henson abt 1799 NC is listed? I have been told George is listed in the 1828 Laurel Co KY Tax List. George lived in an area of Laurel Co KY that came out of Rockcastle Co KY. Later, his area of Laurel Co became Jackson Co KY. Thanks very much for any help/infomation you can give me on my George W. 'R.E.'

Hi, If you go to this site you will see the Laurel co. census for 1830 and also the index for that one. http://www.census-online.com/links/KY/Laurel/ This site is invaluable for many reasons. Sometimes, surname spellings aren't like they should be due to census taker mistake or even the person who reads the census takers writing, so you can look at the index and see all the surnames for that particular decade and sometimes discover the misspellings that are your ancestors names.
