Robert A. Chasteen - Hamilton, Ohio, "Journal News," obit dated 10-18-1997 Robert A. Chasteen, age 86, of Hamilton, passed away, in Ft. Hamilton-Hughes Memorial Hospital, Thrusday, Oct. 16, 1997 at 10:10 p.m. He was born in Rockcastle County Kentucky the son of William and Glatha (Anglin) Chasteen. Robert was a veteran of WWII with the United States Army from 1941 to 1945 and was employed as a laborer for Local #534 for twenty five years, retiring in 1973. In 1943, in Rockcastle County Kentucky, he ws married to Christine Abney. A devoted Husband, Dad and Grandpa, he is survived by his wife, Christine Chasteen of Hamilton; three sons, Bobby and his wife Carolyn Chasteen of Hamilton, Kenny and his wife Alta Chasteen of Indian Springs, Darrell and his wife Carol Chasteen of Hamilton; two daughters, Beverly and her husband Jeff Johnson of Indian Springs, Joy and her husband Doug Gentry of Hamilton; twelve grandchildren, Melissa, Rocky, Ryan, Heather, Brad, Jason, Stephanie, Shelly, Dawn, Josh, Adam, and Ben; and three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Breanna and Hallie. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ralph in 1994, and one brother, William. Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave. Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Fultz, Pastor of the Trenton Curch of God, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Tri-County Extended Care and to the staff of the 2nd floor at Ft. Hamilton-Hughes Memorial Hospital.
