5-25-2006: From "Pal-Item," Richmond, Indiana Lena Day, 66, of Williamsburg, beloved wife, mother and Bible reader, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, in Reid Hospital. She was born in Wildie, Ky., on Dec. 4, 1939, the daughter of Lewis and Elizabeth Jordan Shearer. She was a lifelong resident of Wayne County, spending most of her life in the Williamsburg area. Lena is survived by her husband, Homer Day; three sons, Tom Day of South Daytona, Fla., Frankie Day of Port Orange, Fla., Jeramy Day of Williamsburg; two daughters, Lucy Bird of Muncie, Charlene Santiago of McCordsville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Doan Shearer of Richmond; one stepbrother, Monroe King of Richmond, Ky. She served the true God Jehovah faithfully since 1970 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Private graveside services will be conducted in Economy Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1419 S. J St., Richmond. Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall.
