Looking at the Mountain Echo newspaper for Jan 14, 1881 I found this obituary for Rockcastle County that I thought someone might be able to use. Died: In Rockcastle county, on the morning of the 10th, inst., of cancer in the nose, old Mrs. Hiatte. Mrs. Hiatte was the grandmother of Mrs. Judge Pearl, of this place and was at the time of her death near one hundred years of age. She had been afflicted with the cancer for several years and before her death it had entirely eaten off her nose.
