When I was a child I remember my grandmother, Grace (SOARD) TROXAL, teaching me something she learned from her father, Thomas SOARD, I see to remember her calling it "counting country." It went something like: one-yer two-yer ziggry zaw hollowbone cracklebone wheelbarrow backstone humpback ten My aunt asked me recently if I remembered it. She says I have one of the words wrong but I don't remember which one. Also, she said one of her grandsons found it in an encyclopedia a number of years ago but I haven't had such luck and don't even know how to look for it. My aunt seemed to think it was of Scottish origin but I can't find it in any Gaelic dictionaries. Has anyone ever heard this or have any suggestions how to find its origin? Later...
