>From Richmond, Indiana "Pal-Item" Billy E. Black, 70, of Richmond, went home to be with other family members Monday, May 14, 2007, at Reid Hospital. He was born June 12, 1936, in Livingston, Ky., to Tandy and Alberta Seibert Black and lived in Richmond all of his life. Billy formerly worked for Richmond Community Schools, Palladium-Item and Target. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and placed others above himself. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ruby; five sons, Gordon Black of Richmond, Charles and wife Annette Black of Fountain City, James and wife Brenda Black of Richmond, Kenneth and wife Sally Black of Richmond and Albert Black of Richmond; two daughters, Sharon and husband Micah Mann of Richmond, Carolyn and husband Kenneth Thomas of Richmond; 29 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Glen Young of Richmond. He is preceded in death by one grandson, Dylan Reece; his parents; brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home of Richmond, with Major Gerald Smelser officiating. Burial will be at Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
