    3. >From Richmond, Indiana "Pal-Item" Virgie Kendall, 81, formerly of Richmond, living in Port Orange, Fla., died Thursday, April 26, 2007, following a long illness. She was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Rockcastle County, Ky., to Dewey and Della Moore Gabbard and lived in Richmond for 50 years. She retired from Belden Corp. after 37 years of service and was a member of the Belden 25-Year Club. Virgie was a member of the United Baptist Church of God and the Truth Tabernacle Church. Survivors include one son, David and his wife Debbie Robinson of Richmond; three daughters, Sharon and her husband Hershel Venable of Daytona Beach, Fla., Geraldine Creech of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Carol Ann and her husband Hubert Kennedy of Memphis, Tenn.; five stepsons, Jerry and his wife Sue Kendall of Fontana, Calif., Mark and his wife Mary Kendall, Tony and his wife Vicki Kendall, Tim and his wife Sherri Kendall, Nick and his wife Lora Kendall, all of Richmond; stepdaughter, Nina and her husband Charles Rose of Centerville; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Samuel Gabbard of London, Ky., and Delano Gabbard of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Mayola Mullins of Richmond and Flo Ella Cunagin of McKee, Ky.; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; her brothers, Millard, Glendon, Henry, Brutas and Dallas Gabbard; and her stepdaughter, Trisha Kendall. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Park Church, 1920 Chester Blvd., Richmond, for families in need.
