    1. Re: [KYROCKCA] Lay Family
    2. Gerald: I have the Rockcastle County Cemetery Book and checked for Hiram Lay and did not find his name in the Cemetery Book. I am on the Pine Hill Cemetery Committee and there are more unmarked Graves than there is with makers he may be there without a stone? I will look in our files at the Historical Society and see if we have a Lay Family folder there and will let you know if I find anything on him. 1. [KYROCKCA] James Cemetery Indian mound
    2. Fellow genealogists and anyone concerned with preserving our sacred cemeteries, The History Channel and Time Warner are sponsoring a 'Save Our History' grant award for which anyone can go online and cast their vote. Voting ends THIS FRIDAY April 27th, so time is short. We were fortunate that our restoration project was chosen as a finalist. The JCOGS is the only genealogy society or cemetery project to be chosen as one of the five finalists, so I truly hope that you will go to the Time Warner website and cast your vote for the James Cemetery project. If awarded this grant, we will use 100% of the grant to begin installing an antique-style aluminum alloy fence around the perimeter in order to help halt further desecration of this sacred and historic burial ground. You can read more about our James Cemetery project at the Time Warner 'Save Our History' voting website. Please unite with us as a group of genealogists concerned about the ever-increasing destruction of our cemeteries by VOTING for us at the website below. And note also that ANYONE with Internet access can VOTE so please forward this email to your genealogy circle of friends and ask THEM to vote too! 1. [KYROCKCA] Rockcastle County wills book "D" (1861-1903)
    2. Rex Bertram
    3. Didn’t realize I would finish this one so soon after posting my last message regarding Rockcastle County will book “E”, 1871-1924. However, I had also scanned all of the pages of will book “D”, 1861-1903. It did not have an index. So, I have created a “clickable” index for it. Once again, I had imported the original images, of the pages of this will book, into an adobe acrobat file. I just finished creating the index for this. This is not an every name index. The index includes only the names of the deceased. There are wills, and estate settlements included in this book. This will book is just over 500 pages. Once again, I would be willing to do lookups from this one. Please send requests directly to me at HYPERLINK "mailto:rex@digginbones.com"rex@digginbones.com . Put “Rockcastle County will book “D” in the subject line of your message. Include first and last name of the person you want me to check for. Like the previous will book (“E”, 1871-1924), this one will also be available on cd, to anyone interested. Rex Bertram 132 S. Butler St. Redkey, IN 47373 Free Lookups and Research offered. 2. Rex Bertram
    3. Hi all. Recently, I scanned every page of Rockcastle County Will Book “E”, 1871-1924. I even scanned the pages with the index, in front of the book. I scanned these at a very high resolution, so that the images are excellent. I have imported these images into an adobe acrobat file, so that the one adobe acrobat file contains every page of the book. I am willing to do lookups. Please send requests directly to me at HYPERLINK "mailto:rex@digginbones.com"rex@digginbones.com . Be sure to put “Rockcastle Co. will lookup” in the subject line of your message. Do not reply to the list. I don’t want to flood the lists with these requests. Provide first and last name of person you want me to check. Please understand, I will not be able to transcribe the will or estate settlement for you. These are wills, and estate settlements, and are often a few pages, which would take considerable time to transcribe. I will be making this complete will book available on cd, for anyone interested. Again, you should contact me directly, at HYPERLINK "mailto:rex@digginbones.com"rex@digginbones.com Rex Bertram 132 S. Butler St. Redkey, IN 47373 -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
