    1. Unknown Family Photographs only
    2. Sue Ann Morrow
    3. Hello Cousins, I am going to set up a site just for unknown "Family" photographs only either of family or individuals. I would prefer they be old photos though. If you have any you would love to have online but have no idea where to put them please contact me. I'm not sure at this point how many photos I will be able to allow each person, we'll just have to see how it goes as we go along on this. Any thoughts or suggestions are also appreciated, as I've never done this before. Look forward to your comments and suggestions. 1. Yantis & King
    2. Melissa Hohler
    3. Dear Lincoln & Rockcastle Co. List Friends-- I wonder if any of you can help me decipher this mystery: Andrew & Julia King lived in Rockcastle Co. Ky. One of their many children was named Mollie. This info I rec'd from my gpa, recounting his gma's family. She is definitely not in the household in the 1880 census. I assumed she had married and moved from home by this time. This past weekend I visited Crab Orchard Cem. and came across a lovely tombstone with a carved sculpture in it. "Mollie King, wife of J.L. Yantis born <date> 1864 died <date> 1890" Right beside it was a little tombstone, "Infant son of J.L and Mollie Yantis. born and died Feb. <date>1890" Mollie died about 6weeks after giving birth to this little boy, probably from complicatons. I have found the marriage record for J.L. Yantis and Mollie King. They were married in Dec. of 1886 in Lincoln Co. Mollie's birth in 1864 fits in the timeframe to be the dau. of Andrew and Julia King. Also, one of Mollie's siblings named their daughter "Mollie", I assume as an honor to her. So it sure seems like I've found "the" Mollie King. But I don't have any concrete information. Could someone do a look-up of the marriage of J.L. Yantis and Mollie King to tell me who the parents were? Also, if you have any other info i.e. other children of this marriage I would appreciate it very much. Sincerely, mel

    1. Lewis Vaughn 1857-1919
    2. Sue Ann Morrow
    3. This is my great grandfather, he is the son of James Vaughn & Feribe Helton. If you will see below, he was ambushed and killed trying to bring Unions to the mines. I have never been able to find any information on his death or whether anyone was caught. If anyone runs across any information would you please email me at Kygal@tampabay.rr.com. I would be so grateful. Thank you in advance. 1. LEWIS3 VAUGHN (JAMES2, JOHN1) was born September 1857 in Clay County, Kentucky, and died 24 October 1909 in Middlesboro, Bell County, Kentucky. He married (1) LAVINA JANE BLANTON 24 December 1878 in Harlan County, Kentucky, daughter of ANDREW BLANTON and NANCY SIMPSON. She was born 1864 in Kentucky. He married (2) RACHEL ARAMINTA THOMAS 1892 in Larue County, Kentucky, daughter of BARIED THOMAS and DEBORAH BROCK. She was born 10 March 1874 in Livingston, Rockcastle County, Kentucky, and died 06 October 1932 in Rex, Harlan County, Kentucky. Notes for LEWIS VAUGHN: Shot to death (ambushed) Lewis Vaughn was shot to death while walking home from a union meeting for the coal mines. Lewis was attempting to get the unions in the mining camps. He was ambushed and no one was ever convicted of his murder. Lewis is buried at Stoney Fork Hollow in Middlesboro Kentucky. This was a mining camp. Source: Daughter Nellie Vaughn Ballard. 2. Jennifer Fish, Rockcastle County KyGenWeb Coordinator
    3. Carol, I am the county coordinator for the Rockcastle County KyGenWeb. I have the Rockcastle County, Kentucky Cemetery Records book published in 1986 by Jeanne Snodgrass Bonham and Patricia Hiatt. I doesn't list a Stephen Jones for Pine Hill in it, but however it does list a Lousinda Jones w/Steave Jones 9 Apr 1877 - 22 Jul 1908. This is the only reference in the whole entire book to a Steve or Stephen Jones!!! I hope this helps!!!!! I wrote a couple of messages to one of the members of the Historical Society but received no response. Maybe she's out of town on vacation or off for the summer. Anyway, I recently learned that my great uncle Stephen JONES was buried in Pine Hill in November 1912. I'd like to try to find out where his grave is located. His wife, Lucinda (Scarborough) JONES is also buried there in 1908 and she has a tombstone. I'm trying to find out if Stephen has one also. I doubt it, hers seems to be by itself. But if he does, maybe it's somewhere else in the cemetery. Can anyone help, please? 3. Carol, I believe the administrator of the Rockcastle List may be on leave. I know I subscribed to several lists and received no reply from any of them. Summer is a time when people want to get out and go, so we may find our computers full of email messages soon. Let's give them a little time. I know only a little about the Piney Grove Cemetery at Brodhead and nothing about the Pine Hill site. Wish I could help. 1. Online Death cert. service may be discontinued
    2. Melissa Hohler
    3. Dear Lincoln and Rockcastle Co. Friends-- This message pertains to online Death Certificates available for the State of Ohio, 1913-37. Obviously this is not for Kentucky but if you're like me you have family in several different states. Basically due to budget cuts the website will no longer be available after July 1st. Please use the link below to access the website; the first window will explain the predicament of this very useful--and necessary--service. As fellow genealogists, please seriously consider writing a letter to the persons listed, posting a message or donating money so that this vital website can continue. Also you may find this website very useful to you in your ancestor search. http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/index.cfm Thank you for your time. Sincerely, melissa hohler
