Survivors include one daughter, Marie Taylor and her husband Bill of Columbia, Tenn.; one son, Ore Hall and his wife Annette of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Lori Evans and her husband David of Columbia, Tenn., Tina Cox and her husband Brian of Columbia, Tenn., Karrie Pacheco and her husband Jeff of Indianapolis, and Christopher Hall and his wife Carrie of Dayton, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, Salina Evans, Michaila Evans, Raven Evans, Aubrey Cox, Michael Pacheco, Raylynn Hall and Gwenith Hall; one brother, George York and his wife Betty of Mount Vernon, Ky.; one niece and three nephews. Funeral service for Sallie Jean Hall will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, 794 Round Barn Road S., Richmond, Ind. Rev. Lynn Seagraves will officiate. He was born Nov. 17, 1931, in Rock Castle County, Ky., to Harry and Mary Childress Owens and lived here most of his life. He formerly worked as a truck driver for DeBolt Concrete and IRC&D Trucking and was owner and operator of Owens Towing for many years. Henry was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Ministries of the Lamb Church and a lifetime member of the Kirk Little VFW Post 1108. Henry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Juanita Owens; two children, Catherine Owens and Scott Owens of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Tom Stanley of Langley Air Force Base, Va., Sonny and wife Gina Stanley of Rushville, Tracy Owens of Springfield, Ohio, Irene Stanley, Nita Owens, Danielle Conway and Amanda Owens of Richmond; two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Tyler Stanley of Richmond; three sisters, Dorothy Lovell and Carmen Coldiron of Mount Vernon, Ky., and Fannie Coldiron of London, Ky.; many nieces and nephews. Dillon of Camden, Wanda Jane (Robert) Butler of West Milton, Ohio, and Jackie L. Overbay on 14 Jan 1876 in Rockcastle Co., she was born November 1855 (1900 RC census) in TN, D/O Preston Overbay and Malinda ?. Their children: Milton G. b. ca. 1879 (1880 RC census), Walter Allen, b. Jan 1886, Serilda and Malinda E. (apparently twins) b. March 1888. Poteet b. 18 Mar 1851 Rockcastle Co. Ky, is found in the 1880 Webb, Jasper, Missouri Census as a Lead Miner. He has wife Hannah Young and two children. Hannah's brother Alfred Young lives with them, he is also a lead miner. W.B and Hannah's first child is named Arminda (Hannah's mother's name). I find Hannah's family in the 1870 Census of Prairie Twp. McDonald, Missouri. Samuel Young b. ca 1830 IN, wife Arminda b. Ca. 1832 IL, children Alfred, Marion, Perry, Hannah and Melvin.     3. List: While searching RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project recently I find several researchers say Dicey Mallicoat married 2nd ca 1824 in Goochland, KY Elisha Majors Eaton b ca 1783. All but one of the e-mails I sent to the 2nd marriage researchers bounced. I haven't heard from that one person yet. I looked at the "World Book" but didn't find a county or city in KY named "Goochland." Am I missing something? I do see a Goochland city and county in VA. Can someone give a poor lost soul a KY history lesson? Thanks.--Bill Waller

    3. Crystal, Haven't worked much on that family although they are there in the same time frame as my own family and have done some work on the edges. The only Poteet in the 1820 Rockcastle Co. Census is Guy Poteet. One would assume that he probably is the father of Charles who was born ca 1822. (Charles and family are in the 1870 Agency Twp., Osage Co. Kansas Census). However the Guy Poteet family as shown in 1820 confuses me just a little bit. Looks to me like the wife may be to old to be having children, so it could be that one of the girls is the mother? Males 0-10 1, 10-16 3, 26-45 1 Females 0-10 1, 16-26 2, 45+ 1 Guess it is possible that his wife died, the older lady is a relative, and he remarries before Charles is born? Wild Guess Any Comments?
