    1. McKee Family.
    2. Does anyone have information on this McKee family from Rockcastle County? I found this in the 1870 census: McKee William age 22 b. KY, Adalade age 21 b. MO, Bettie age 66 b. KY (probably Wm's mother or grandmother), Joseph age 1 b. KY, and Louisa age 3/12 b. KY. This is the only time I find this family. I'm trying to see if there is a connection with this Joseph McKee in 1870 and Joseph Maxie in 1920 in Clay County. Joseph Maxie's death certificate says he was born in Rockcastle Co. around 1870. I know this is a stretch but you know how people changed the spelling of names back then. Both of these families are brick walls. That is why I thought they might have a connection. Any help is appreciated. You may respond to this list or email me directly at (KYPHILPOT@aol.com). Thanks, Jerry Philpot.

    1. Durham's in RCK
    2. Joe Hardiman
    3. Hi CIndy: Haven't looked at my Kentucky data in awhile. You know there were 2 William Durham's who appeared to be about the same age in the 1850 RCK Census. One had a wife named Eliza with children named Elizabeth, Minerva, John, Joseph, Eliza, Stephen, and Simeon. The other William Durham's wife was named Elizabeth with children Mary, Matilda, Isaac, and Greenberry. William and Eliza disappeared in 1860 and William reappeared in 1870 having aged only about 10 years. William married to Elizabeth shows up in the 1860 census but his wife's name is Letty. Children Mary, Matilda, and Isaac have disappeared. Children Anne, Elizabeth, Eleanor, and John are now with the family. William that was married to Elizabeth in 1850 and wife's name is Letty in 1860 has a wife named Matilda in 1870. Elizabeth is still living with him and they are joined by children Nancy, Wiley, John, William, Thomas, and Lettie. In 1880 his wife's name is Minerva with children Nancy, John, William, Thomas J, and Letty still living with him.

    2. Cindy Crawford
    3. Hello List Trying to find date of death for Thomas Jefferson Durham born March 1861 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. He was twin to William M. Durham. They were the sons of William Durham b. 1818. Thomas was supposed to have died in Laurel County some time in 1941, however there is not death record of this. He is suppose to be buried on Gauley Mountain but I have no head stone to look at. He was married to Clista Lawson and they had children: Frederick Harrison, Green Berry, and Mary who went to New York. Would also like to know what happened to Mary as nothing has ever been found for her except an article in the Mt. Vernon Signal that she was home for the summer visiting family from New York. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance Cindy Durham Crawford

    3. I am not a Moore researcher, but in my data-base created while researching my Henson ancestry, I am showing Thomas Moore b abt 1808 KY (see 1830/40/50 Laurel Co KY Census) as being a son of Moses Moore JR b bef 1790 Greene Co TN and 'Nellie' Moore. Showing Thomas had siblings; William, Lucinda, Orlancy/Oriana, Moses, and possibly an Affariah Moore who married Nancy Farris on Jan 14, 1836 Laurel Co KY. I have not proved any of this (not my family line) but it could possibly serve as 'very good leads' for someone researching the Moores of Laurel Co KY. 'Dillard' Elkins and Jackson Elkins who married daugthers, Sarah and Lucinda, of George W Henson and Anna Forbis-Henson while the families were living in Grundy Co MO along with 'many other Laurel Co KY families' who had moved to Livingston/Grundy Co MO in the late 1830's (the Hensons and Elkins returned to Laurel Co KY mid 1840). Brother-in-laws 'Dillard' Elkins and Elisha Henson (Elisha was a son of George and Anna Forbis-Henson) both served as Constables in the 2nd District of Laurel Co KY. An Isaac Jackson Forbis posted bond for the Sept 1853 appointment of 'Dillard' Elkins so he could serve as Constable. Please share any additional information on Thomas Lear/Lair and any of the many KY relatives of mine mentioned above. 'R.E.'
