Hi all, Forgive me if you get more than one copy of this. I have two questions and a lookup request. I have allways been told that my great-grandmothers last name was DARCUS, just talked to a cusin who said her last name was SMITH saying that her mother first married a DARCUS then a GUFFY, and her death cert. has her mothers name as Darcus SMITH. Minda Lou DARCUS(SMITH) LAWSON was born 05 Jul 1890 in Clinton County, Kentucky and died 29 Sep 1942 she married Fred LAWSON born 06 Jan 1889 died 10 May 1966. They were married 02 Sep 1910 in Clinton Co., Kentucky. Question, is it possible for a woman to have the first name Darcus, and how common is it. I know that in the 1870 Pulaski County, Kentucky census book page 390 that there is a Thomas HIGGENBOTTOM with wife Darcus (UNKNOWN). So, there could be others? If anyone has the marriage books for Wayne, Pulaski, Clinton, Monroe or Barren for the years 1870 - 1900 please check for a bride with the first name DARCUS married to a SMITH, DARCUS or GUFFY. Last, if anyone has a clinton county 1900 or 1910 census book could you lookup the surname SMITH or DARCUS or GUFFY for with the following kids: Minda Lou, Willie, Sam, John, Douglas and Elix. I went to my library and the 1910 film was almost imposible to read. If I can return the favor I have the following books: 1850, 1870 census books, 1890 Taxpayers, marriage books one and two (covers 1799-1863) for Pulaski County, Kentucky. Thanks in advance, Jim Indianapolis
