My many Pulaski Co connections start with: Adam [Robert?] SURBER (b. ca 1751 in Germantown, Philadelphia Co PA, d. 10/11 Apr 1830/33 in Pulaski Co KY) m(1) ca 1776 to Margaret "Peggy" --?-- (d. aft 1 Sep 1801), m(2) 10 Oct 1822 in Washington Co TN as second husband to Mary {SHIELDS} McCLURE (b. ca 1775, d. ca 1845 in Pulaski Co KY). The many surnames in and associated with my line are: SURBER -- Swiss German > PA >VA SHIELDS -- New England/PA > VA HUBBLE -- NY > VA ca mid to late 1770s McCLURE -- PA > VA MINTON -- possible Melungeon ties? WATKINS/WADKINS BRYANT BASTIN/BASTON/BASTIAN -- German LEWIS some SMITH STARNS -- originally German STARING BISHOP BLACK -- possibly (Swiss) German SCHWARTZ ... and many others I have lots to share on these names and many others, and lots of questions to ask.
