9/6 Hi to Pulaski group. I just sent this to the Jessamine County (KY)group which also relates to my family. Thought this might be of use to some of you. In particular please note the Bradshaw info. Do any of you have info about Stearns & the coal mining activities there? I've visited -- fascinating & enjoyable -- but I did not know at the time that I had relatives involved there. Is this the right group to be writing to. Stearns (Whitley Co) used to be a part of Pulaski County so that's why I thought some of you would be interested. Also, is anyone working on the railroads mentioned? Thanks! --------------------------- (original message) 9/6/99 Hello everyone, Hope you're enjoying Labor Day. Several weeks ago I visited a cousin also in Michigan who has a family Bible with a lot of entries relating to Walters of course, also mentioning surnames Campbell, Dunn, Wilmore, Silvers, Johnson, Tracy, Froman. Briefly, David (J?) Walters married Sarah Campbell. He may have also remarried and had several of the later children with a Mary Polly (last name unknown). Their children and dates of birth-death are: John C. 1/27/1826-11/6/1914 Mary Jane 4/7/1828-6/?/1890 Elizabeth 4/26/1830 (deaths unknown for the rest) Nancy 4/26/1832 Sarah 6/25/1834 Netty (Netta? Hetta?) 1/20/1837 Katharine 4/4/1839 Stephen William 11/5/1842 David 9/1/1845 Also have a little info on some marriages. My relation to all of this? David Walters' daughter Mary Jane married Jacob Wilmore. Their daughter Betty (Elizabeth?)Wilmore married Henry Clay Bradshaw. Their son Jacob Wilmore Bradshaw (or Wilmore Jacob), later known as J.W. or Brad, was my maternal grandfather (born 1870, died 1946). Early in life he may have been a coal miner in Stearns, KY, possibly with other relatives. He married Anna Belle Gray in SOmerset (Pulaski), KY, lived rest of his life there. After his marriage he was an engineer for the CNO&TP (part of the Southern Railroad). Also some info on a Mamie Walters. I am unsure how she is related to this group. She married John Dunn 1874. Their daughter Mamie married Hiram Silvers in 1907, died 1917 (Harlan, KY?). Comments? Suggestions? Sincerely, Annabel S, Plymouth, Michigan
