Joe Charles Combs Sunday, 08 March 2009 12:45 Joe Charles Combs, 69, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, in Spring Meadows Care Center, Woodstock. He was born in Stanton, Ky., on June 5, 1939, a son of the late Joe Preston and Jewell Finch Combs. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Jolliff; granddaughter, Alexandra Elizabeth; and brother, James Scoby Combs. Survivors include sons, Joe Charles Combs II of Bellefontaine, Jeff Combs of Florida and Jason Combs of Texas; three granddaughters; brothers, Porter J.B. (Gloria) Combs and Audney A. (Frances) Combs, both of North Lewisburg, and Donald Ray (Jody) Combs of Milford Center; a brother-in-law, Bill Jolliff of Milford Center; and several nieces and nephews. A former truck driver and park ranger, he especially loved sitting and drinking coffee with his buddies. Pastor Robert Instine conducts a funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, where calling is one hour prior. Burial is in Milford Center Cemetery.
