Carter Wayne E Strode Wayne E Strode Services for Wayne E Strode 75 of will be held at 2 Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home He died at Saturday Aug 28 1999 in the emergency room of Logansport Memorial Hospital Born Feb in Logansport he was the son of Harry Lewis and Gladys Mae Stephen Strode On July in Royal Center he was married to Beatrice E Jean Combs who survives Mr Strode was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad before going to work or retiring from there in 1991 after more than 20 years of service He was a member of Fulton Masonic 665 American Legion Post 60 Veterans of Foreig Wars Post 3790 and the National Rifle Association He enjoyed classic cars working outdoors and garage sales Mr Strode was a 1942 graduate ot Galveston High School and attended Stanford University and Indiana University He was a veteran of the Army having served during World War II with the 20th Armored Division Also surviving are one son Gary Strode Logansport one Myrtle L Butler Logansport two and their wives Roscoe Jack and Joan Combs Logansport and Charles E and Eunice Combs Muldrow and several nieces nephews and nephews and and nephews A sister Mable Strode McLocklin and infant brother Donald Strode and stepfather Wayne Robertson preceded in death The Rev William Art Maloney will officiate at the services Burial with military rites will be in Rock Creek Cemetery Friends may call from 4 to 8 Monday and one hour before the services Tuesday in the funer al home Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Cancer Society
