Maude Treadway Combs, age 99, widow of Matthew Combs of Snow Creek Road, Clay City, KY passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at her residence. Born in Owsley County, KY she was the daughter of the late Arch and Amelia Reynolds Treadway. She was a former teacher with the Powell County School System and she was a member of the Powell County Retired Teachers Association. Surviving relatives are three children, Prentys Combs of Corbin, KY, Darrhyl (Paula) Combs of Clay City, KY and Zula (Jimmie) Lisle of Winchester, KY; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Graveside services officiated by Rev. Donnie Bruce Patrick will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Paris, KY. Active pallbearers are Jeff Combs, Jay Combs, Matthew Combs, Keith Hall, Steve Nichols and Donnie Bruce Patrick. Honorary pallbearers are Mary Lois Flitchum Ware, Judy Potts and Marjorie Mastin.
