You might also contact the Powell County Clerks office and see if there is a record of an indictment for this. Perhaps, it was an accident where the gun went off and it wasn't a murder. The Red River Historical Society in Clay City has archived Clay City Times newspapers and will probably have this article, too. Good Luck!
